We are using WhatsApp as our main messaging platform for a long time. In this long period, we have seen massive improvements in its existing features and also seen some new features which are added to WhatsApp.
After Facebook’s acquisition in February 2014, they are working on new features like WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Dark mode, WhatsApp Video Calling, etc. We have already experienced those features on our WhatsApp application and those are highly appreciated and successful.
In 2020 WhatsApp once again planning to launch some new features on its app. These cool new WhatsApp features are quite amazing and needed for users most.
WhatsApp new features like disappearing messages or self distractive messages, WhatsApp storage management tool, WhatsApp room – group video calling feature, WhatsApp advance Wallpaper customization, and the most awaited WhatsApp payment are now available for WhatsApp beta users. Although WhatsApp payment is not available for all the beta users because of security issues, other features are available for all beta users.
This new WhatsApp feature is now available for users. With this feature, you are now able to send self distractive messages to any user. That means with this feature-enabled chatbox if you send a message this message will automatically disappear after a certain time. WhatsApp testing this feature with a 7-day disappearing timeline.
You can activate this feature by opening a chat and then follow the steps below.
Open a WhatsApp chat –> Click on the user name (to view WhatsApp profile) –> Find “Disappearing messages” on the menu –> Set it on to activate the feature
We use WhatsApp on regular basis and WhatsApp shared media files are taking a huge amount of storage on our mobile phones. Some times only for the WhatsApp media file we are getting storage media warning messages from device management.
But with this update now you can able to control each chat or even group media files. Now you can delete media files for a particular chatbox or even you can delete only the big files on the chatbox to clear the phone storage.

Open WhatsApp -> Open Setting by clicking on the 3 dots on the top right corner -> Click on “Storage and Data” setting -> Click “Manage Storage”
From this setting, you can manage and delete media files by size and chat users or groups.
This new feature allows you to create a video calling room via Facebook messenger. It is available on the app as well as on the WhatsApp web platform for all the users.
You can create multiple video calling rooms and can share the room link to the users to invite them to the video conference.
With this feature now WhatsApp users can customize the wallpaper with different parameters. Parameters like wallpaper dimming on dark mode, wallpapers by category like dark, bright, solid colors, and my photo option. Now users can take a preview before saving the wallpaper settings.

Open WhatsApp -> Open Setting by clicking on the 3 dots on the top right corner -> Click on “Chat“ setting -> Click “Wallpaper“ to customize it.
Payments by WhatsApp is the most awaiting feature in 2020. With this feature, users can able to send and get payments from other users. Basically WhatsApp business is now more powerful than previous.
WhatsApp said its payment system will use BHIM UPI as their main payment infrastructure. So it will be a fully secure UPI based payment system.
WhatsApp payment feature is now on the test run. Once testing is over, it will be available for all the beta users first. Later for all the other users also.
